Eternal Life

If you would like to receive Eternal Life, it is so simple. Read the following scriptures, and then pray the prayer below from your heart.

John 3:16 says:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.”

That ‘whoever’ part means that you are included in this statement. Thinking that you don’t deserve it, or may have sinned? Romans 3:23 says:

“…for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”

God created men in the world without sin when he made Adam and Eve. When they rebelled against God and disobeyed Him, death passed to all men and sin entered our hearts. God knew that the wages of sin is spiritual death, which would separate us from Him. In His great love for us, He desired to make an escape from that death. He sent His only son to the earth, who was perfect and without sin, to die that death for us — in our place. He did die, and was raised again 3 days. His sacrifice in our place meant our sins are forgiven, and if we receive Him, we can now call God Father. Choosing to receive His sacrifice means we can now call Heaven home! (Scripture references: Genesis 1:31, Romans 5:12, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:4, Isaiah 59:2, John 3:16, 1 John 3:5, 1 Peter 2:24, Romans 5:8, 1 Corinthians 15:20-22, 1 John 4:10, Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6, Colossians 1:5)

Before Jesus, that ‘sin’ thing would have been a problem. But Romans 6:23 gives us the Good News:

“The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The Bible tells us how we can choose to receive that free gift in Romans 10:9-10, 12 and also 1 John 1:9 :

“If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation…Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

If you believe these things in your heart, then pray (“confess”) this prayer out loud (“with the mouth”) right now:

Father, I have sinned. But I believe the Bible — Your Word — that says Jesus took all my sins away. I believe that He is Your only Son, that He died in my place, and that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth right now that Jesus is Lord. He is my Savior. Come into my heart, Jesus and be my Lord. I receive Your forgiveness for my sins. Thank you for washing me white as snow! I believe right now that I am a new creature with a new Spirit. I receive salvation and eternal life. Thank You, Father. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me! Amen.”

If you prayed this prayer and meant it, you are now saved, born-again, going to Heaven, and have eternal life in your Spirit! (John 3:3, Romans 10:13) You are now a believer — a Christian.
